It is a tool that can create a small chart in a worksheet cell showing the trend of selected numbers, eg. the income\u00a0gains over time. In addition to standard charts\u00a0that can be created in Excel, we can use in the 2010 version the tool so-called\u00a0Sparklines. The difference between common chart and Sparkline is is that the Sparklines\u00a0are included in the cells and not the objects lying in the independent layer. They can be even copied the same way as a formula. Furthermore, it has not many settings, but on the other hand, it is useful for getting quick graphic information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To create a Sparkline\u00a0you need\u00a0.xlsx file and the version of Excel 2010 or newer. Consider the numbers expressing revenues from products sold within a few months. Besides the overall results we might also be interested in the trend of these values, so that in future periods we can better\u00a0adapt our business decisions. To insert a Sparkline, go\u00a0via the <strong>Insert tab &gt; Sparklines<\/strong>. We can choose from 3 types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>line\u00a0<em>(suitable for expression of the trend line)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>column<\/li>\n<li>win\/los\u00a0<em>(expresses different positive and negative values)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After selecting the type we select the\u00a0source data and in what area we\u00a0want to insert it. It is possible to create a whole group of Sparklines, as shown in the figure below.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1066\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1066\" style=\"width: 508px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.itlektor.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/minigrafy.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1066 \" style=\"border-image: initial; border: 0px initial initial;\" title=\"Excel 2010 mini-grafy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.itlektor.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/minigrafy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.itlektor.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/minigrafy.jpg 846w, https:\/\/www.itlektor.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/minigrafy-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1066\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Excel 2010\u00a0sparklines<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After creating it activates Tools contextual tab <strong>Sparklines &#8211; Design<\/strong>\u00a0for further adjustments. Attention, this tab is displayed only when we stand with a mouse in a cell with a Sparkline. In addition to the graphical changes (color), it can be suitably used also to highlight the highest, lowest, first and last\u00a0point. For the type of win\u00a0\/ loss\u00a0and we can\u00a0display axis between positive and negative values.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sparklines\u00a0are automatically updated at the moment of values\u00a0change of the cells as well as in the common chart. In practice, the Sparklines\u00a0are inserted near the source cells to have\u00a0numbers near in case of\u00a0irregularities.
