Are you using Microsoft Office 2007 or newer and you think about how to keep Quick Access Toolbar settings for other computers or as a backup of frequently used buttons?

Previously in the 2003 version, it was enough for the backup of the toolbar to save the file as a template, or move the settings through Organizer …

Now you need to find a specific file ending with qat extension, which is stored in the folder %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Office, for Windows 7 in Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft \Office. For each application there is a separate file for example word.qat, excel.qat etc., which in itself holds information about the buttons on the Quick Access Toolbar, and can be moved to another computer.

Update information for Office 2010: Files with saved toolbars are named as .officeUI in the same folder as for the version 2007.
